jamie cullum rocks. i stone.
wheewheewhee, ok, JUNE 15 2006, THURSDAY, was the JAMIE CULLUM CONCERT. i had a blast. ok, before going, i didn't really think i would enjoy it as much as i did cus once i tried listening to the whole of the twentysomething album and i gave up halfway, i felt his songs were all quite repeatitive and i knew like a total of... ten songs from BOTH his albums?it was kinda bad, but i thought the tickets were kinda cheap though, plus clarissa said our seats were one of the front seats, i couldn't believe it lor. well... she was right, they were one of the front seats, from the back that is. i think we were in the fourth row, from the back. at first we didn't know, then i saw on the ticket, row jj, then i was thinking that it was kinda weird la, so we asked the usher, and he pointed to the back. then we were thinking, aiya, not that bad la. (we were trying to look on the bright side of things, HAHA.) then we were climbing and climbing and i felt as if i was climbing mount everest or something. my sister went too, but she got better seats, row m. and she got them for FREE. the night before, her friend called and offered her tickets.
hokay, that part was kinda shitty, but it was fun cus when jamie came out and started playing his first song, which was actually one of the ten songs i knew from his album, photograph, i didn't think it was going to be so bad after all. and all of a sudden, we saw a lot a lot of people just getting out of their seats and moving toward the stage. so we thought that they were going to just stand nearer the stage to get a better view, so we stood up and followed them too. and it was at the SUNTEC CONVENTION HALL, which was GIGANTIC, so it took us a while to walk down and suddenly, we noticed that the people we were following had disappeared and found out that they actually went down to sit in the empty seats in front, so audrey was all 'we got to hurry find seats', and there were like, four of us, audrey, clarissa amanda and me. not so easy. but luckily, we found a whole row occupied by people and four empty seats in the middle. wow, so we sat there, but soon after, the ushers caught us and asked us to go back to ou seats. audrey and clarissa still dared to act blur, they were like, 'OH! u mean this is not our seats?' HAHA, so we just got up and after walking like, six steps toward the back, we saw another four empty seats and quickly went to kapok them. hahaha, this time no one caught us, but we were sitting at one of the VVIP seats and i felt sorry for those people who spent twice as much as we did to buy seats at where we were sitting, when we bought the cheapest tickets and could still sit at such expensive seats.
oh, and i think jamie is like, really hot. but in pictures he doesn't look that nice, but up close, it's like *sizzle*. and i think his voice has that super strong, in clarissa's words, sexy essence, haha. but only thing is that clarissa used that phrase for some other dude, not jamie cullum, hahaha. but i generally think that jazz is sexy. yeah, with that raspy voice and slick style. and when jamie was singing twentysomething, he attempted to do a stunt by jumping over the piano but in the end, he broke the cover off. then he was all 'no, that wasn't right' or something like that, and he did it again. wowwhee.
then jamie went down to the audience! and he stopped in the middle of the first half of the hall, and everyone, including us, crowded around him. he was singing Nature Boy to some random group of people there was a sax solo too, and audrey was standing on some stranger's chair trying to take close up pics, haha.
then he went back on stage and said that everyone could come up to the foot of the stage, we all rushed up and we were so bloody near! we were one step away from the stage! and jamie was walking up and down from one end to the other shaking hands with his fans. we were on the left side, but everytime he was about to come near to us, he turns back and jumps around. humph, but it was so cool to be like, at least a metre's length away from him. i think jamie is such a good singer too, but sometimes in concerts, those that i've been to (which is like two so far) and those that i see on tv, i sometimes think that they do the same repeatitive things for every concert, but he was like a BOMB of energy and he changed some of the song's lyrics, like, on the spot i guess. somewhere through the concert, there was like a drum solo thing and a trumpet solo thing, and for the drum solo thing, jamie's drummer was like, taptaptapping all over the place and he put cymbols on this girl's head and did his thing, and then he put it on his on head and tapped away, so cool. and i actually found out who
that girl was! through
mr brown, cus guess what, he was there too! and everything was nice cus he keeps doing cute stunts and everybody was just having fun, jumping and dancing around. then we heard someone shout out 'HEY SEXY!', and we burst out in laughter cus we like going 'that's hot' (all these quoted from paris hilton), and we wanted to shout that out but we didn't. the funny thing was that when i went home, i found out it was my sister who shouted that out, hahaha.
oh yeah, jamie cullum is soooo patriotic, during the last few songs, he had an England flag with him and he was saying how England's gonna win the world cup. but then again, i would be damn patriotic too if i was living in England, and btw, i think that England IS gonna win the world cup cus the only two countries which is think are actually good is England and Brazil, but my sister said that since Brazil won the world cup four years ago, they kinda think that they're so good and they can just dribble around with the ball and win again, and i kinda agree with her. and when he was finishing off, he gave away his tiger beer which he had been drinking throughout the concert, to some random fan, and the others said that he also gave away his England flag but i thought i saw him giving away something else and bring the flag with him backstage, and why would he give it away when he's so patriotic?
after that, we were trying to find ways to sneak into the meet and greet session. tough luck, but after that, we were like, still craving for more. and when we were going out of suntec, guess who we saw?! UTT! but this post isn't about him so he can just go fly kite. after the thing, his songs keep playing in my mind like a broken record and i can't stop listening to his songs, but i can't help it. but then again, audrey is the only thing that's keeping me sane, cus after seeing how OBSESSED she is, i DON'T want to be like her. so scary. but i. still. can't. stop. thinking. about. jamie! ok, i should read audrey's blog more, scare myself, hahaha, haha.ha.ha, k whatever.
I WANT A REPLAY!
